Iona is a small island accessible by a short ferry trip from the southern tip of Mull . It was first settled by St Columba in 563AD and was the birthplace of Scottish christianity. A visit here will give you an insight into early Celtic christianity with the abbey, the nunnery and the graves of several of the early Scottish kings, allegedly including Macbeth’s victim, Duncan. The cottage is 2 miles from the Iona ferry.
